FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL'S JOHN BILLINGSLEA A FINALIST FOR MARYLAND TEACHER OF THE YEAR!

Baltimore County’s 2008-09 Teacher of the Year, John Billingslea, has been chosen one of eight finalists for the Maryland Teacher of the Year honor to be announced in October.

Billingslea, an Advanced Placement social studies teacher, was chosen Baltimore County’s Teacher of the Year in May. He will interview before a state panel next month for the state position.

FOR THE FOURTH TIME FHS IS NAMED IN NEWSWEEK MAGAZINE'S LIST OF TOP 5% OF AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOLS

While we are proud of being listed in the “Top 5% of the Nation’s High Schools” by Newsweek Magazine for our Advanced Placement program, we are just as proud of our ability to offer a rigorous instructional program that emphasizes successful academic achievement for all students.  Our ongoing successes on functional tests, HSA exams, and SAT exams attest to the fact that our students take their studies seriously and benefit from “the Franklin Way."

 

FRANKLIN HIGH AND FRANKLIN MIDDLE TEAM UP FOR CANCER RESEARCH

On April 24th Franklin High School and Franklin Middle School came together for the third annual Battle For The Bell basketball game. This year both schools together raised $6,000 for the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research.

Franklin High and Franklin Middle were honored by the Maryland State Department of Education for their student service learning project, the Jimmy V Basketball Game. Click here to see the recognition as a Sherry Unger Award winner.
