FHS TEACHER WINS TACHAU TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Congratulations to Bruce Lesh, Social Studies Department Chair and AP Government teacher, who has been awarded the 2008 Organization of American Historians Tachau Teacher of the Year Award. OAH recognizes contributions made by precollegiate or classroom teachers to improve history education. Read more about the award.

NEW ONLINE DATABASE AT FHS TO IMPROVE TEST SCORES

Through the end of May, BCPS is now offering free access to the Thomson Gale Testing and Education Center. The following trial offers search engines for college,specialty and career programs and provides practice tests and test materials for the SAT and AP exams.

FHS RECEIVES ARTIFICIAL TURF

The Athletic Department at Franklin High School is very excited to learn that we will receive artificial turf in the stadium within the next three years.  This is a fantastic opportunity developed by County Executive James T. Smith.  The field will be able to hold games for lacrosse, football, soccer, and field hockey.  It will also be used by the recreation programs.

 
 

 


FRANKLIN JUNIOR ACCEPTED INTO ALL-STATE BAND

Greg S., a junior at Franklin High School, has been given an amazing honor. He has been accepted to be in the All-State band. Greg has been playing percussion, his honorary instrument, since he was in fifth grade. Read the rest of the article by staff writer Allyssa W. DEDICATION OF NEW STADIUM

Despite the cold and rain, Franklin celebrated both homecoming and the

dedication of the Dr. Clarence E. McWilliams sports stadium on Friday

evening, November 9th. Take a look at the dedication program as well

AVID TAKES ROOT AT FRANKLIN
