Franklin High School is a proud member of the International Thespian Society, troupe no. 1928. Founded in 1929, ITS is the only theatre honors society for students. ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre— performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to worldwide opportunities and resources. Students are inducted on a yearly basis based on their academic achievements and their participation in our Theatre Program.
Once inducted, students receive:
- Official membership pin, card, and certificate
- Exclusive Thespian interviews for college admission and scholarships
- Opportunities for adjudication
- School, chapter, and international leadership opportunities
- Eligibility to qualify for the International Thespian Excellence Awards—Thespys, to recognize the highest level of achievement in school theatre performance and technical theatre.
- Dramatics magazine and Dramatics.org, the only publications edited exclusively for theatre students and teachers
