ATTENTION: Current 9th - 11th Graders

Course Registration Information for the 2021 – 2022 School Year:

Students will be able submit course requests for their classes online starting Tuesday, January 19th. Students will need to use their Google Chrome browser at the following link (https://baltimore.focusschoolsoftware.com/focus). The deadline to submit course requests is Sunday January 31st.  Once students have submitted their course requests, they are asked to send a confirmation email or Schoology message to their grade level counselor (See grade level course listing form).  It is important that students and families review the following course registration resources that are attached to this email in order to submit accurate and timely course requests.

3.     FOCUS Online Course Request Directions:

This document provides step by step directions for how students will submit their course requests digitally.  Below you will find three highlights from this document:

·       Students can select course requests for all courses that have not been automatically populated.  If a student would like to drop a course in which they have automatically been enrolled, students will need to email their grade level counselor with the course they would like to drop.  Students can consult the course listing form based on their assigned grade level for next year.

·       Students who will be entering 9th – 11th grade for the 2021 – 2022 school year will need to select a total of 8.0 credits. For each half credit course (.5), another half credit course needs to be selected so that the total is 8.0 credits.  If a student would like to select an alternate course(s), please follow the directions below in Step 6

4. Helpful Tips
Alternate Course Requests:
Students who would like to choose alternate courses that exceed the mandatory 8 credits for rising 10th-11th graders will need to properly number their alternate course requests.
In the 'Elective Priority' column, place a 2 (first alternate choice), 3 and/or 4 (if needed) next to the courses in the order that the student prefers, if a primary course  request is not available.

How to drop an automatically assigned course:
If a student would like to drop a course in which they were automatically assigned, they will need to email their grade level counselor or send a message via Schoology.

How to confirm your course requests for review by grade level counselor:
Once students have made their final course requests, they should send a confirmation message to their grade level counselor
