Parents/Guardians:

Our team has been working hard this weekend in preparation for the distribution of
COVID-19 Test Kits and KN95 masks on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.  Each student
and staff member will receive one of each.  This is not mandatory and is being
distributed to provide additional resources to our Franklin HS stakeholders.

I cannot express how fortunate and appreciative I am to work alongside such
amazing staff, students and parents as we navigate these very challenging times.
Thank you for everything you do to help support Franklin HS!

3. A message from the school nurse
Message from Nurse Loes:

If you are emailing me ([email protected]) to report that your student has COVID or is awaiting
results of your test, please leave the following information in your email so that I can forward it to
the Baltimore County Health Department:

Student's Name
Student's date of birth and grade
Your Name
Your Address
Your Phone Number
Date of first symptoms
Date of test when it was collected
Type of test (Rapid, PCR, home, unknown)
Bus number if applicable
Current Sport at school
Lunch period (A, B, or C)
Last Date in School

Just a few more notes...

We have not adopted the newest CDC guidelines yet. I do not know if we will or not.

If your student tested positive for COVID and has symptoms, they will need to be out for
10 days starting the day of symptom onset.

If your student tested positive for COVID and has no symptoms, they will need to be out
for 10 days starting the day of the test collection date.

Please do not send your sick student to school to be tested. If they are a close contact
or you/they just want to know, I can not test for that either. I am not set up to handle
that kind of volume that I would get. I know this is frustrating to some and finding a testing
site can be daunting.  Please find a place near your to get tested. There are several areas
around like pharmacies, urgent care centers, doctor's offices, and new Baltimore County
Health Department sites- just google COVID testing sites near you. You can also get some
home tests as well that you can use. If for some reason you can't do any and have been
trying, have your student isolate for the 10 days of symptom onset and then they can return
to school.

Also, when your student is waiting for test results, they should not be in school. If for
some reason, they are taking a super long time, call to find out about what is going on. If it
has been already 10 days since symptom onset or since date of the test and still no results,
then the contagious period has passed and may return to school.

School work

If your student is out due to COVID (either quarantining or with actual COVID, or awaiting
test results), please have them email their teachers through Schoology and ask them to post
assignments so that they can work on them at home. There are also tutoring sessions
available in the evenings to help as well. Check out the chart with the google meet codes in
the Weekly Bulletin the principal sends out on Sundays.

Please try to stay safe and healthy.
