Introductory statement: In order to maintain a safe and orderly environment, all staff and students will need to comply with the following protocols.
Arrival Procedures:
- Students can report to auditorium before going to 1st period which starts at 7:40am
- Students can report directly to 1st period no earlier than 7:25am
Dismissal Procedures:
- Students will need to leave campus by 2:25pm if not under the direct supervision of a teacher or coach
- Students waiting for bus will need to wait outside
Late Arrivals/Early Dismissals Procedures:
- Late arriving students should go directly to their classrooms where they will scan a QR code to record attendance. Parents of students who are leaving early should email Ms. Brashears in the main office at [email protected] prior to the start of the school day.
Face Covering:
- Face coverings are required for all persons in a BCPS facility or vehicle as well as on BCPS property. Face coverings are required during transportation to/from school on a bus as well as outdoors while on campus.
- Each school, office, and school bus will have a supply of disposable face coverings for students and employees who forget their face covering or whose face covering becomes soiled or damaged.
Screening & Stay Home When Appropriate:
- All employees and students are expected to screen themselves daily for symptoms of COVID-19.
- Remain home if you have symptoms, confirmed COVID-19 illness, had recent contact with a person with COVID-19 and/or awaiting test results.
- Parents will receive a screening checklist with the screening practices.
Social Distancing:
- Classroom furniture is arranged to provide 6-feet separation between students, when possible.
- Individual desk and chairs will be set up in cafeteria in order to ensure social distancing
- Hallways – students will follow a stay to the right traffic pattern in each hallway
Hand Hygiene:
- Hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout campus, especially in high traffic areas - Students are encouraged to bring their own personal hand sanitizer
Breakfast:
- “Grab and Go” breakfast will be provided outside auditorium
Lunch:
- Students will sit at individual desks that are 6ft. apart and all face in the same direction- Times for handwashing or use of hand sanitizer to include before and after meals, upon arrival to schools’ offices and home, before and after use of any shared items, after use of the restroom, after sneezing/coughing and other time hands are contaminated.
Water:
- The water coolers have been removed and the water fountains are not operational. Students should bring their own bottled water to school each day.
Supplies & Devices:
- Students and teachers may only use BCPS issued devices
- Students are required to bring a fully charged device and charging cord each day
Visitors:
- To visit a BCPS school, visitors must have an appointment.
- Visits will be conducted remotely or outside, whenever possible.
- If an indoor visit is required, visitors will be required to wear a face coverings and practice social distancing.
- The number of people admitted to the building will be limited
