Mission Statement

Our mission is to assist the faculty of the arts programs with needs beyond the BCPS budget limitations while supporting and promoting the student clubs, organizations, extra-curricular activities, and scholarships through financial support and volunteerism.

 

What is the Franklin High School Performing Arts Boosters?

 

We are a volunteer not-for-profit organization of parents, alumni, faculty and other supporters that has a proud tradition of providing financial assistance for student activities through our membership drive, charitable contributions, dinning outs and event concession fund-raising efforts. The Performing Arts Booster Club is dedicated to supporting and promoting student interest in the performing arts (Band, Choir Ensembles, Dance, Guitar Ensembles, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and Theatre Company).

 

Why Join Boosters?

 

Joining the Booster Club and volunteering at school events are great ways to support our students, to meet other parents, and to get involved in the community.

 

The more students are involved in extracurricular activities, the more it costs to secure these activities' survival. We strive to ensure that there is a variety of activities to offer our students to enhance their skills and spark their interests. However, we cannot do it without YOU! The parents and supporters who join the Booster Club, through their financial commitment, and their commitment of time as a volunteer make the many opportunities available for our Franklin High School students possible.

There is clear evidence that students who are involved in extracurricular activities enjoy their high school experience more, are better prepared to meet the challenges of adult life and increase their chances for scholarships and other college successes. Extracurricular activities also build memories and friendships that last a lifetime. As a busy parent, as we all are, volunteering your time with our concessions, to sell, make, donate baked goods and snacks at school events at least one time throughout the year, makes a massive difference to the success of our program! It also embodies the school motto, “Nulli Secundus”, which is Latin for “Second to None”, also reinforcing your commitment to your child.

Please consider joining the Franklin High School Performing Arts Boosters Today. Your membership dues for joining are only $15.00 per family, per school year, which are tax deductible as the IRS recognizes us as a certified 503(c) charity organization. Your support can guarantee that our student organizations and programs will thrive at FHS providing the means by which our students can grow. 100% of all funds raised, donated, and earned by the boosters goes straight to the needs of the performing arts programs!

Booster members receive a dedicated newsletter with information on school activities and an opportunity to apply for one of our two $750 college scholarships. Most important, by joining the Booster club, you will find a community of involved parents supporting our kids, their activities, sponsors, faculty and friends. We all look forward to seeing you soon!
